Author Spotlight and book Giveaway with T. L. Jones

K.S.  Hello and welcome to the blog. I am very excited to have you here. Why don’t we start off with a small introduction? Tell us a little about yourself.

TL: Hi Katie thank you for this opportunity. My name is Terri and I recently completed my first novel “Jaded Visions”. I was a police officer here in Texas and decided to use experience and imagination to try something new. I hope it worked.

K.S.  Any interesting writing quirks or stories you would like to share with my readers?

TL: Well really the only thing that comes to mind is my experience in writing Jaded Visions. I had always wanted to write but just didn’t seem to have the time. One morning I told my husband, Dave, that I was going to start my book and went upstairs to give it a try. Dave laughed and said have fun. It was too easy. The words just flowed. The story line and all just started to appear as I typed. It was amazing.

K.S.  When did you realize you wanted to be a writer? What sparked the desire to pen your first novel?

TL: Katie I have always had a passion for reading. I thought about writing forever and just decided one day to give it a try. It was a natural flow. I thoroughly enjoyed writing my first novel. I am currently writing the second.

K.S.  What genre do you write?

TL: Mysteries and this one has a paranormal twist.

K.S.  What would you say has inspired you most in your writing career? Or, who is your favorite author and why?

TL: I had a friend who has since passed away that wrote short stories. His name was Butch Grant and he would bring these short stories to me to read. Butch was very talented and did write a novel before he passed away. I always expressed my desire to write my own one day and Butch unfailingly pushed me to try. Jaded Visions is dedicated in part to Butch Grant. Kay Hooper is a fave. I love her Bishop FBI series. She can spin a web with paranormal abilities like no other.

K.S.  What does your family think of your writing?

TL:  They are all very proud and supportive. My husband and children have been an inspiration through this entire experience.

K.S.  What was one of the most surprising things you learned while creating your book?

TL: How much fun I had doing it.

K.S.  What inspired you to write your novel?

TL:  Something I have always want to try my hand at. Reading is a passion of mine and now writing is.

K.S.  Can you tell us a little about your novel?

TL: Blub

Jade Hamilton is barely staying one step ahead of a ruthless killer. Paranormal visions have been a part of her life since she was ten and this time her visions put her in the middle of a murder. Jade has to keep six year old Emmie Linderhoff safe from this killer, as well as, keep herself out of jail for kidnapping.
Jade runs with the child after the girl's parents are murdered and along the way she meets up with St. Joseph's most eligible bachelor, Detective Ryan Douglas. Ryan, along with his partner, try to help Jade solve this case before another murder occurs. As they become more involved in the case, they begin to realize that their feelings for each other are growing as quickly as the fear that they won't find the killer in time

K.S.  Where can we find your novel?

TL: I have a web site tljonesauthor.com, also available Amazon.com, Barnes & Nobel.com, Iuniverse.com, anywhere Ingram books are sold online as well.

K.S.  Do you have a website, fan site, or Blog that we can visit?

TL: Yes, my web site is: tljonesauthor.com, I also have a FB fan page: TL Jones Author. I am currently working on a blog. I am so on Twitter.com tljonesauthor.

K.S.  Do you have any closing advice to aspiring writers?

TL: Never give up. It is a passion worth fulfilling. Seeing your book in print is the most phenomenal feeling. Never say never.

And now for the part you've all been waiting for!
